Established in 1900, The Marceline Fire Department is located in Linn County.  Out of the same building, the Department serves the City of Marceline, Marceline rural area in Linn County and also serve in Chariton and some in Macon County.

The Marceline Fire Department is an all volunteer force with 16 Fire Fighters and 6 officers, led by Fire Chief Brian Chrisman, Assistant Chief Don Henke, Captain George Kelly, 1^st Lieutenant Mike Wright, 2^nd Lieutenant Mike Kelly, and Safety Officer Willie Ewigman.

The Marceline Fire Department receives up-to-date training 3-4 times a year and all new Fire Fighters are trained on equipment before operation. The Department is very active in the community with fundraising to raise money for improvement to the City equipment that is not in the City budget. The Department's main fundraiser is our 8-9 day celebration over the 4^th of July. The community gives us great support during this event.  Every year the Department awards three $600 scholarships to Marceline High Seniors
