Christmas for Kids
Itís that time of year again! The holiday season is just around the corner -
which means the Marceline Police Department is gearing up for its annual
Christmas for Kids
Christmas for Kids was started two years ago as a community outreach
program with the goal of bringing the community together to sponsor
underprivileged children & families in the Marceline area.
Residents and children of all ages are invited for a fun-filled night of
Christmas Celebration at 4:00 - 6:00 pm, December 6, 2015 at the Walsworth
There will be many fun activities featured, to include games, door prizes, and
an opportunity to have children fingerprinted for a child safety i.d., and even
a surprise visit from Santa himself, who will be taking photos & Christmas wish
lists from the kids. For a complete schedule of events, listen to KDWD
99.1 or call (660) 376-2242.
A benefit Chili/ Soup dinner will be provided courtesy of the Marceline Police
Department. Goodwill donations will be accepted.
The Marceline Police Department has partnered with the Linn County Child Welfare
Council, Linn County DSS- Childrenís Division, Walt Disney Elementary School as
well as the Walsworth Community Center in this yearís celebration, with a
combined goal of collecting as many canned, dried or boxed foods, & winter
clothing (hats or gloves) as possible in order to supplement the local food
pantry & assist Marcelineís under-privileged children & families. We humbly ask
& thank you for your support in this charitable endeavor & request those wishing
to attend this yearís celebration to bring as many of the aforementioned items
as you can spare to our annual celebration.
Now is the time to give back within our community! Individuals and businesses
interested in supporting the Marceline Police Departmentís Christmas for Kids
Celebration should contact Mary Lewis at (660)
376-3556, Monday-Friday, 8am-5 pm for more information on donating supplies and
gifts, or just volunteering your time or talent toward our preparations.
Hereís to a successful Christmas season of giving back to those in need!
