Perfect attendance students get red carpet treatment


Marceline, MO – Students celebrate their final day of school today and look forward to the warm days of summer ahead.  In tradition, 36 students from Walt Disney Elementary were given special treatment in recognition of their perfect attendance record during the school year.


The Marceline Volunteer Fire Department  sponsored the group with breakfast at Ma Vic’s, followed by a ride on the fire vehicles, escorted by the Marceline Police Department, to the school where they were greeted by fellow students and teachers.  A red carpet was rolled out for their grand entrance.

“Recognizing the student’s accomplishments every year has been a huge hit.” said Sarah Dunham, Walt Disney Elementary Principal.  “A special thank you goes out to the Firemen and Ma Vic’s for making the event so memorable.  This was our largest group!”
