Christmas in May?

Marceline, MO – After decades of use, the Christmas decorations that have spanned the streets of Main Street USA have finally been replaced.  Although paid from current funds, the Marceline Area Chamber of Commerce is still seeking donations.

The Chamber of Commerce purchased 5 new street-spanning swags at a cost of just under $7,300.  Existing decorations from the past will be repurposed (where possible) and used in Ripley Park.  One of the newly-purchased swag pieces will be on display over Ritchie Avenue next to Ripley Park on May 7-11.  There will be another display scheduled in July.

We’d love to have you as a member if you’re not already, and we hope you’ll contribute towards our new Christmas decorations.  Peanut Night is consistently one of the most well attended events of the year.  Donations may be mailed to the Chamber at P.O. Box 93, Marceline, MO 64658, or visit  (search by zip code or the word “Marceline”) and donate online.

The Chamber currently has 51 business members and 12 associate members.  We contribute to events, promotions and advertising in and for Marceline.  We support our youth through buddy packs, a scholarship and the mailbox project, which encourages our graduates to return home someday.

The sense of place that is Marceline – “the satisfaction of home” as Midwest author Hal Borland said – is a combination of all our efforts.  We appreciate your efforts in helping us!!

Enjoy alumni weekend, and welcome home!
