The Walt Disney Hometown Museum Welcomes Gift from BNSF Railroad

- New Opening Day Announced for the 2018 Season -

Marceline, MO - The Walt Disney Hometown Museum is proud to announce the arrival of a gift from our friends at the BNSF Railway. In the early morning hours of Monday October 30th a piece of Santa Fe history returned to the siding along the west side of Marceline’s original 1913 Santa Fe Railway Station. The gift of the 1966 SD40 Santa Fe Engine #6308 is a nod to Marceline’s rich railroad history, and an everlasting link to Walt Disney’s affinity for trains. Parked alongside ‘The Beanery’ it will eventually become a part of the museum’s guided tour and a valuable extension of the museum’s existing railway story.

The Walt Disney Hometown Museum will re-open for its 2018 season on March 1st, with new additions to the ‘Collectors’ Gallery’ and a brand new self-guided tour. This year the 10,000 square feet of interactive gallery space will continue its evolution, expanding its story and continuing to engage guests of all ages.

The Walt Disney Hometown Museum is a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping the story of Walt Disney’s deep Marceline roots alive and vibrant for all our guests. Through first-hand stories and immersive gallery displays, we keep our promise to the Disney Family by showcasing their love for this piece of small town America.
