Sisters Exhibit - featuring Nora Oldham Othic & Barbara Oldham Garvey

Marceline, MO -  "Sisters", an exhibit featuring Nora Oldham Othic and Barbara Oldham Garvey will be on display on the North Missouri Arts Council (NOMO) Gallery on April 3 - 29, 2018.  An opening reception for the artists will be held on Friday, April 6, from 5-8 pm.

Nora (Oldham) Othic and Barbara (Oldham) Garvey are sisters who moved to Marceline with their parents Bert H. and Ferne Oldham in the early 1960’s. The two grew up loving to draw, color, paint, collage and do all things art. Their parents encouraged these projects.

Nora loved to draw animals and Barbara drew children and families (large ones). When they grew up, Nora continued her studies and has worked very hard at her passion and is now a well known, award winning professional regional artist with art displayed in galleries throughout the Midwest.

Barbara put her art aside for many years and raised a family of four children with her husband Denis and also had a career working with preschool children, teaching Head Start for 24 years. She now enjoys time with her 11 grandchildren and creating art for fun.

Both sisters are active members of the North Missouri Arts Council.
