Marceline, MO
-
At the regular
meeting of the City Council on October 18, 2022, the Council adopted Ordinance
#35.2233, formally changing the regular meeting dates to 5:30 pm on the second
Wednesday each month, starting in the month of November.
“With the busy and
varying activities of Council Members, scheduling conflicts were becoming more
frequent,” stated Mayor Sallie Buck. “The new meeting schedule will help
ensure all elected officials will be in attendance to vote on crucial matters of
the City.”
The previous meeting
schedule, in place since May of 2008, was the third Tuesday of each month.
Previous changes to Title I, Chapter 100, Section 100.020 were adopted in 1984,
1996, 1998, and 2004.
“Various activities,
including numerous City and local board meetings, as well as school and church
activities, were taken into consideration when deciding on a new schedule, with
the second Wednesday of each month being a date with the least number of
scheduling conflicts for Council Members.” Said City Manager Richard Hoon.
The next City Council
Meeting date will be November 9, 2022.
