Meissen and Holt sworn in, Buck elected Mayor

Council honors outgoing Councilwoman Natalie Wellman, selects Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem


Marceline, MO - At the Special City Council Meeting on April 8, 2019, one of the Councilís first actions was to formally recognize the public service of outgoing Councilwoman Natalie Wellman.  Councilman Wellman served on the Council from April 2016 through April 2019.  Outgoing Mayor Tyson Brammer was recognized for his services as Mayor for 2018-2019.  Brammer will continue his duties as Councilman until 2021.


The oath of office was then administered by the City Clerk to newly elected Councilwoman Lacey Meissen and incumbent Councilman Jeri Holt.


Councilwoman Lacey (Brammer) Meissen was born and raised in Marceline. Her immediate family are lifelong residents. She graduated from Marceline R-V with the class of 1994, furthering her education at Chillicothe Vocational School with an emphasis on Business Management, later receiving her certification in Social Services. Lacey married Vance Meissen, whom also was born and raised in Marceline. Together, Lacey and Vance have two children. She was employed with Gatehouse Media (Sho-Me Shopper/Linn County Leader) for 16 years as a Multi-Media Sales Executive and is currently employed with Pioneer Skilled Nursing by Americare as their Business Office Manager. Lacey and her family are members of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with their children attending Father McCartan Memorial School. Lacey is also a member of the Marceline Eagles Auxiliary for 23 years, a business member of the Marceline Chamber, and served on the Planning and Zoning Board. 


Councilman Jeri Holt was a Warehouse Supervisor at Walsworth Publishing Company for 30 years until his retirement in January of 2019.  He is a lifelong resident of Marceline, graduating from Marceline R-V, and is the Fire Chief of the Marceline Volunteer Fire Department. He has served on the City Council for 14 years and was mayor 1988-1989, 2016-2018. He worked for the Marceline Housing Cedar Brook Square, Sunset Hills and Allison Apartments for 14 years. He is very active in the community where he is a member of the Marceline Eagles, Marceline Rotary and Marceline Golf Club. He retired in 2013 from refereeing middle school and high school basketball after 29 years. He is married to Dana Holt and has one daughter, Jennifer Holt from Moberly, Missouri. While serving on the Marceline City Council, Jeri became a Certified Municipal Official effective December 2015.


Immediately following the Oath of office was the Council's duty of electing a new Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem to serve in those positions for 2019-2020.  Councilwoman Sallie Buck was elected by the Council to serve as the Mayor and Councilman Jeri Holt was elected to serve as the Mayor Pro-Tem for the City Marceline.
