The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) of the City of Marceline, Missouri
announced today they had a great response to their 2022 Business Grant program.
The program was announced on March 1, 2022, and the application period ended on
April 2nd.
Marceline businesses could apply for up to $1000.00 to help improve any
business. The individual businesses were also required to match the grant
amount. The grant needed to either increase sales, services or employment or
improve the look or integrity of their building. The application process was
open to all businesses with a City Occupational License and were current on
their taxes. Any projects less than $2000.00 in total cost will be matched at
50% of the cost. All projects must be completed by November 30, 2022.
“The IDA received seventeen applications for grant assistance from various
businesses within Marceline,” said Richard Switzer, Executive Director.
“The grant projects ranged from enhanced or new business services, interior
improvements, exterior appearance improvements, such as new signage or exterior
awnings."
Applications were scored on growing or enhancing business services, preserving
or beautifying buildings, competitive bids and location in the downtown business
district. Final scoring was completed to rank the grants, including the order of
submission.

The 2022
Business Grant Program will assist in over $50,300 improvements by business
owners. This will add to the over $100,000 of business improvements made in the
previous three years of the program.
The Marceline IDA recognizes a vibrant and welcoming Downtown Marceline is
essential to the new businesses and residents that will soon be calling
Marceline their home.
