The Marceline City
Council is considering amending Chapter 375 of the City Code, which governs
bicycles, motorized bicycles, and other vehicles.
The
proposed ordinance (Bill No. 25-10-004) introduces
new definitions and
safety regulations for
motorized skateboards
(including stand-up scooters) and
other motorized play
vehicles such as mini bikes, pocket rockets, and similar
devices. These updates aim to address
safety concerns reported
to and
observed by Council members
involving the use of such vehicles.

encouraged to review the proposal and share their feedback before the Council’s

The Council will
discuss and take possible action on the ordinance during their next regular
meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers at
Marceline City Hall.
