The Industrial 
Development Authority of the City of Marceline, Missouri announced they would be 
providing a 50/50 matching grant program to Marceline businesses to make 
improvements again this year. Richard Switzer, Executive Director of the IDA 
announced the grant would be eligible to all commercial businesses in Marceline 
and all commercial building owners. Switzer said the total grant money available 
for this Business Grant Program would be $10,000.00 in the 2022 grant cycle.
 
  
The IDA Business 
Improvement Grant Program will open on March 1, 2022 and applications may be 
made through April 2, 2022. The Guidelines / Application is available online

saved, completed and printed at the applicant's convenience.  Hard copies 
are also available at City Hall or at the Downtown Marceline Office at 209 N. 
Main Street USA.  
  
The grant amount will 
equal up to 50% of the cost of eligible improvements, up to a maximum of $1,000. 
For example, if a total project cost is $1,200, IDA’s reimbursed grant is $600 
and the business will provide $600 of their funds. If a total project cost is 
$2,200, IDA's grant is $1,000 and the business will be responsible for $1,200. 
  
A ranking points 
system will be used with first time recipients, brick and mortar, location, time 
in business and other factors being considered before grant approval. Also the 
use of local contractors and buying materials locally will be taken into 
consideration.  
  
Applications must be 
mailed to Marceline IDA, c/o Marceline IDA Grant Committee, P.O. Box 332, 
Marceline, MO 64658 prior to April 2, 2021. Applications must be postmarked on / 
after March 1, 2022 in ordered to be considered.  All applications received 
will be considered at the next regularly scheduled IDA meeting on the third 
Wednesday of each month.
