The Marceline Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has selected Richard
Switzer as the new Executive Director for the organization. Effective
February 1st, Switzer will be replacing Darrell Gardner, who is
retiring after 22 years of service to the IDA.
Richard Switzer, a 34-year Marceline resident, has served the community as a
member of the Marceline Park and Recreation board, a volunteer with the
Marceline Stadium Club and Downtown Marceline Main Street USA. He has been an
Ameriprise Financial franchise owner in Marceline for 23 years.
In his new role as Executive Director, Switzer will directly represent the
Marceline IDA in promoting business and economic development interests in the
community. This position will include assisting in the planning and coordination
of community development projects, representing the IDA Board at local and state
meetings, and working with current and prospective businesses to expand their
operations in the Marceline community.
